Nursery worker reviewing plants with a tablet

Why Winplant

Software shaped around nursery work.

Winplant grew from a South Florida bedding plant nursery, where its founder worked as comptroller and saw how much time disconnected processes cost the team.

The company story

Start with the work on the ground.

More than 30 years ago, Winplant began developing software to reduce manual work and improve accuracy at nurseries. Its early systems were built around individual customers. The company says that experience informed a broader system that can be extended for different operations.

Its customers have included bedding plant growers, container nurseries, tree farms, plant brokers, fruit and vegetable growers, and retail nurseries. Some combine several of those business lines.

Common questions

What should you know first?

Do we need every feature at once?
No. Winplant describes starting with inventory control and workflow management, then adding capabilities as the nursery is ready.

Will it fit our kind of nursery?
Winplant has served wholesale growers, brokers, and retailers. Show the team your actual crops and sales process to confirm the right configuration.

What happens between order and delivery?
Pick tickets, pull lists, load sheets, routing, and mobile delivery tools are part of the published feature set. Follow the workflow.

Getting started

A practical way to explore the fit.

Winplant says nurseries can begin with inventory and workflow control, then add more capabilities over time. Bring an inventory list, a typical order, and one difficult handoff to make that conversation specific.

01

Review the workflow.

Show how your team tracks plants, takes orders, and prepares deliveries. Include any wholesale, retail, or broker work that changes the process.

02

Explore examples.

Ask to see inventory movement, an order allocation, and the field and delivery handoffs using your own scenarios.

03

Clarify scope.

Confirm which modules, mobile tools, integrations, and setup work apply to your operation, then ask for a quote.

04

Plan the transition.

Decide what data needs to move, who will use each part of the system, and what the team needs to learn before rollout.
